NSW Seniors Week 21-28 March 2010

NSW Seniors Week
21-28 March 2010

The largest celebration for seniors in the southern hemisphere returns in 2010 with an exciting series of events taking place across metropolitan and regional NSW.

Coordinated by Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC), NSW Seniors Week is a major community event celebrating the valuable contribution of older people in NSW.

NSW Seniors Week challenges some of society’s stereotypes around ageing and invites us all to consider our attitudes towards older people in our community.

NSW Seniors Week attracts 250,000 seniors to over 700 events across NSW and for the first time, ‘Seniors Week hubs’ have been created at hot spots across NSW including Darling Harbour, Cockatoo Island on Sydney Harbour, Campbelltown, Newcastle, and the Hunter Valley Gardens. These ‘hubs’ feature a week-long series of events especially designed for seniors.
